Sales & Buying
Sales, on the level.
Pricing is itemized in writing, up front. The figure we quote is what you sign — including any factory incentives and BMW Loyalty Credit. We do not add dealer markup over MSRP on M models.
How does pricing work, and is the window sticker the price I will pay?
We begin at BMW North America's MSRP, then apply any current factory incentives, the BMW Loyalty Credit you qualify for, and any dealer adjustments. Each line is itemized on the deal sheet. Loyalty Credit amounts and end dates vary by model; BMW USA's Loyalty Credit page shows the current per-model offers.
The out-the-door number is what you sign at, and we put it in writing before F&I. On allocated M cars (M2, M3, M4, M5, M8, X3 M, X4 M, X5 M, X6 M, XM), there is no dealer markup over MSRP: the build-sheet MSRP is the price. Current pricing on every car we have is on our new-inventory listings.
How do I schedule a test drive?
Three ways:
- Online at our new-inventory page. Every listing has a test-drive scheduler.
- By phone at (770) 954-7738. Tell us the model and we'll route you to the advisor who specializes in it.
- Walk in during showroom hours.
Saturday is our busiest test-drive day, so we recommend booking ahead, especially for the X3, X5, X7, i4, i5, iX, and any M model. Cross-shopping is welcome: we can line up an X3 alongside an X5, or an i4 alongside a 330e, on the same morning.
Can I trade in my current vehicle, even if it's not a BMW?
Yes. We accept any make and model in trade. Our appraisals draw on Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer, Edmunds, and Carvana benchmarks, and we'll match or beat reasonable competing offers.
Your trade-in shows as a separate line on the deal sheet, kept distinct from the purchase price so the math is clear. Common trades we see include the Honda Pilot, Acura MDX, Toyota Highlander, Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, and Lexus RX.
What to bring:
- The title
- Registration
- Payoff information if you're financing
- Both keys, if you have them
For a ballpark before you drive in, our trade-appraisal tool will give you a starting figure.
What does "no corporate fees" mean on your About page?
The phrase comes straight from our About page: "You'll never pay corporate fees or unnecessary overhead costs as a locally-focused dealership."
What it means in practice: as a SONS Auto Group family-owned store, we don't pass along the documentation upcharges or corporate overhead allocations that some larger dealer networks fold into their F&I sheets. Ask for the out-the-door number in writing; you'll see exactly which line items are present and which aren't.
Are you open Sundays?
No. All departments are closed Sunday.
Our published hours:
- Sales: Mon–Fri 9 AM–7:30 PM · Sat 9 AM–7 PM
- Service & Parts: Mon–Fri 7:30 AM–6 PM · Sat 8 AM–4 PM
For a Sunday accommodation under unusual circumstances, call (770) 954-7738 and we'll see what we can do.
Do you have inventory I can see online before I drive in?
Yes. Full new-BMW inventory is live on our new-inventory page:
- Sedans & coupes: 3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, 8 Series
- SAVs & SACs: X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7
- M models: M2, M3, M4, M5, M8, X3 M, X4 M, X5 M, X6 M, XM
- EVs: i4, i5, i7, iX
- PHEVs: 330e, X5 xDrive50e, 750e xDrive
Certified Pre-Owned BMWs are listed separately on our used-inventory page. If a specific configuration — color, trim, package — isn't on the lot, your advisor can flag the next build slot that matches.
How do I get pre-approved for financing before I come in?
Apply through our finance page or call our finance team at (770) 954-7738. We work with BMW Financial Services and a panel of bank and credit-union lenders, which lets us shop your application across multiple sources for the strongest rate. Pre-approval typically takes 30 to 60 minutes during business hours, and the letter is good for 30 days. With one in hand, signing at delivery usually runs under an hour.
Do you have bilingual sales staff?
Frequently, yes — though our roster shifts, so call (770) 954-7738 to confirm. South Atlanta's customer base is diverse, and our hiring reflects that. If you'd prefer a Spanish-speaking sales or service advisor, mention it when you book and we'll route you accordingly.

Union City, GA · Est. 1999Service & Maintenance
Service, by BMW-trained technicians.
Every technician here is BMW STEP-certified. Recalls and software updates flow to us directly from BMW NA. Scheduled service inside the 3-year / 36,000-mile BMW Ultimate Care window is covered by BMW; everything outside it gets a written quote on your specific car before any work begins.
How much does a BMW oil change cost?
A factory-spec synthetic oil change at the dealership typically runs $129 to $209, depending on engine, oil capacity, and model. If your BMW is still inside the 3-year / 36,000-mile factory maintenance window from the in-service date, scheduled oil changes are at no charge under BMW Ultimate Care.
For an exact quote on your car, call (678) 619-3081 with your model year and approximate mileage, or check current pricing on our service page. For the full breakdown — by-engine pricing, what's on the work order, and how often a modern BMW really needs an oil change — see our BMW oil change cost guide for Union City, GA.
How much does a BMW brake pad replacement cost?
Brake pricing depends on the model and the pad/rotor combination, so we don't quote it sight-unseen. Bring your BMW in for a complimentary brake-pad inspection and we'll give you a precise out-the-door figure with a printed work order before any work begins.
What's standard either way: original BMW pads and rotors, factory torque specifications, and a factory-trained brake-fluid bleed sequence. Most current BMWs use the Condition Based Service (CBS) sensor, which gives a real measurement of remaining pad life rather than an estimate from mileage. Schedule an inspection or call (678) 619-3081.
What are your service department hours?
- Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM–6 PM
- Saturday: 8 AM–4 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Parts runs the same schedule. Book online through our service scheduler or call (678) 619-3081. Same-day appointments are often available, particularly weekday mornings before 10.
Are your service technicians BMW-certified?
Yes. Our technicians complete the BMW Service Technical Education Program (STEP) and continue with ongoing BMW NA training, covering powertrain, electrical, transmission, EV high-voltage systems, and iDrive software diagnostics. Master Technician–level certification is in place on the floor.
As a BMW NA franchise, every technical service bulletin and software update flows to us directly. If a software update or recall applies to your VIN, we identify and apply it during your routine visit at no charge.
Do you offer loaner cars while my BMW is being serviced?
Yes, where the work calls for it. Longer service appointments — extended diagnostics, multi-day recall work, transmission jobs — qualify for a loaner, and we try to match the class of your car when fleet availability allows.
Loaners are reservation-based for M models and the i Series, so let your service advisor know when you book.
What happens if my BMW has an open recall?
We check your VIN against the BMW NA recall database during every routine service. If a recall is open and applies to your car, we contact you, schedule the work, and complete it at no charge — regardless of where the car was originally sold. Recall work is paid by BMW North America, never by you.
Recurring 2020–2025 BMW recalls have included starter-motor work, fuel-pump work, and high-voltage-system inspections on the i Series. To check your VIN yourself, visit nhtsa.gov/recalls, or call us at (678) 619-3081.
How will I know what's happening with my BMW during service?
Your service advisor calls or texts you at four points: at intake, after diagnostic findings, before any additional work is approved, and when your car is ready.
Every visit also includes a BMW multi-point inspection with photo documentation of any wear items we find, delivered to you as a digital report so you can decide what to address now and what can wait. To reach your advisor directly during a visit, ask for them by name when you call (678) 619-3081 — your advisor's contact details are also on the work-order paperwork they hand you at intake.
Do you offer mobile service that comes to my home or office?
Yes. BMW Mobile Service sends a BMW-certified technician to your home or workplace for routine maintenance and minor repairs, using genuine BMW parts and the same diagnostic equipment used in our service bays.
Services available at your location include oil changes, micro-filter and air-filter replacement, spark plug replacement, tire replacement, vehicle diagnostics, and a complimentary multi-point inspection. More substantial repairs that require a lift, alignment rack, or paint booth are handled at the Union City service department.
The mobile service area covers Sandy Springs, Atlanta, Marietta, Peachtree City, Mableton, Smyrna, Kennesaw, and Powder Springs. To check availability for your address and book a visit, call or text the mobile service line at (888) 326-5886, or schedule online at bmwofsouthatlanta.com/mobile-service.
Can BMW of South Atlanta service the i4, i5, i7, and iX?
Yes. We're a BMW-certified EV service location for the entire i Series — covering high-voltage battery diagnostics, work performed under the 8-year / 100,000-mile high-voltage battery warranty, BMW Operating System 8 / 8.5 software updates (the OS the i4, i5, i7, and iX run on), BMW Wallbox connectivity diagnostics, and brake-fluid and reduction-gear-oil services on the i Series intervals.
Our technicians have completed BMW NA's i Series specialist training, coursework not generally available to independent shops or to non-BMW dealers.
Schedule online with your VIN, or call with your model and mileage for a written quote.
Every multipoint inspection includes photo and video documentation of any wear items we find, delivered to you as a digital report.
BMW of South Atlanta · Service departmentFinancing
Financing, with BMW's lending arm and a panel.
BMW Financial Services is BMW's own lending arm, and we also shop your application across a panel of bank and credit-union partners. Pre-approval letters are valid for 30 days. First-time buyers are welcome.
What credit score do I need to qualify for BMW Financial Services?
BMW Financial Services tier-1 rates — the most favorable APR — typically require a 720+ credit score. Tier 2 (660–719) and tier 3 (600–659) carry higher APRs but stay within standard auto-finance ranges.
Because our finance team works with BMW Financial Services — BMW's own lending arm — alongside the bank and credit-union partners on our standard panel, we can serve a wider range of credit profiles than any single source. If your credit history is complicated, call (770) 954-7738; we'll walk through your options before you commit to a vehicle.
What financing programs does BMW Financial Services offer?
| Program | Terms |
|---|---|
| Standard finance | 24 to 84 months |
| Traditional lease | 24, 36, or 39 months at 7,500 / 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 annual miles |
| Owners Choice | Balloon-payment program with smaller monthly payments, then keep, return, or refinance at term end |
| BMW Loyalty Credit | Varies by model for returning BMW owners — see BMW USA's Loyalty Credit page for current per-model offers and end dates |
Special-program lease and finance offers rotate monthly. Current specials are on our finance page; the up-to-date list is also a phone call away.
Can I get pre-approved before I come in?
Yes. Apply through our finance page or call (770) 954-7738. Pre-approval letters are valid for 30 days and let you walk in knowing exactly what you can finance. If you're already pre-approved through your own bank or credit union, bring that letter; we'll honor it, and we'll also share what BMW Financial Services can offer in case it improves on your rate.
Are first-time buyers welcome at BMW?
Yes. BMW Financial Services has a first-time-buyer program with structured terms designed for buyers still building credit history. With steady employment and proof of income, the pathway is open even without an established credit file. We'll go through the specific terms with you and recommend a payment that fits your budget rather than strains it.
Should I lease or buy my next BMW?
The answer turns on three variables: annual mileage, how often you want to be in a new car, and your tax situation.
Lease tends to make sense if you drive under 12,000–15,000 miles per year, prefer a new BMW every three years, and want to avoid out-of-warranty service surprises. Lease payments are also lower than finance payments on the same car, which can put a higher trim within reach.
Buying tends to make sense if you drive more than 15,000 miles per year, plan to keep the car beyond five years, or you're a business owner who can take advantage of Section 179 depreciation. The BMW X5 and X7 both qualify under the 6,000+ lb GVWR rule with 50%+ business use. (Section 179 and bonus-depreciation rules changed under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in 2025; verify with your tax advisor before committing.)
Our finance team will run both scenarios with real numbers on your specific car before you decide.
BMW EV & Hybrid
The full i Series, plus PHEVs.
We carry the full electric i Series — i4, i5, i7, and iX — plus the plug-in hybrid 330e, X5 xDrive50e, and 750e xDrive. The high-voltage battery is covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles. The federal Clean Vehicle Credit was terminated for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025, though state and utility incentives in Georgia may still apply.
Which BMW EVs and PHEVs are available?
We carry the full BMW i Series lineup:
- i4 — compact sport sedan, available in eDrive40 (RWD), xDrive40 (AWD), and M60 (AWD performance)
- i5 — mid-size sport sedan
- i7 — full-size luxury sedan
- iX — luxury Sports Activity Vehicle
And the plug-in hybrid lineup:
- 330e — compact sport sedan PHEV
- X5 xDrive50e — mid-size SAV PHEV
- 750e xDrive — full-size luxury sedan PHEV
Most are in stock; the rest are readily available to order. Current configurations and inventory live on our new-inventory page.
Does the BMW i4 qualify for the federal EV tax credit?
No — and as of late 2025, neither does any other new EV.
The federal Clean Vehicle Credit (IRC Section 30D) was terminated for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025, under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (P.L. 119-21), signed July 4, 2025. The end of the credit applies across all manufacturers, not just BMW. Buyers who entered a binding written contract and made a payment on an eligible vehicle on or before September 30, 2025 may still claim the credit on their 2025 return when the vehicle is placed in service.
Even when the credit was active, the i4 was separately ineligible: it is manufactured in Munich, Germany, which did not satisfy the Inflation Reduction Act's North American Final Assembly requirement.
State and utility incentives in Georgia may still apply. The IRS Clean Vehicle Tax Credits page and fueleconomy.gov hold the current status. Our finance team can also speak to the factory and dealer incentives on offer in place of the credit.
How do I install a Level 2 home charger for a BMW EV?
Installation typically runs $800 to $2,500 in metro Atlanta, depending on the cable run from your electrical panel, panel capacity (an upgrade may be needed if you're at capacity), and permit requirements. Permit approval generally clears in two to three weeks across Fulton, Fayette, and Coweta counties.
We work with a network of Atlanta-area electricians experienced with BMW Wallbox installs, and we email an installer guide with referrals within 24 hours of any test drive on a new BMW EV.
The BMW Wallbox is the manufacturer-recommended unit. Third-party Level 2 chargers — ChargePoint Home Flex, Wallbox Pulsar Plus — also work cleanly with the i Series.
What's the warranty on a BMW EV battery?
Eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, on the high-voltage battery and high-voltage system components. The full BMW warranty stack:
| Coverage | Term |
|---|---|
| BMW i Series HV battery & system | 8 years / 100,000 miles |
| New-vehicle limited warranty | 4 years / 50,000 miles |
| BMW Roadside Assistance | 4 years, unlimited miles |
| BMW Ultimate Care factory maintenance | 3 years / 36,000 miles |
| Rust perforation | 12 years, unlimited miles |
What's the real-world EV range in Georgia summer heat?
Range estimates across the BMW i Series (BMW NA published figures; some 2026 model-year ranges are preliminary BMW AG estimates pending final EPA certification):
| Model | Range estimate |
|---|---|
| i4 eDrive40 | 307 to 333 miles depending on wheel size |
| i4 xDrive40 | 268 to 287 miles depending on wheel size |
| i4 M60 | 232 to 278 miles depending on wheel size |
| i5 eDrive40 | 278 to 310 miles |
| i5 xDrive40 | 259 to 278 miles |
| i5 M60 | 259 to 277 miles |
| iX xDrive45 (2026) | up to 312 miles |
| iX xDrive60 (2026) | up to 364 miles |
| iX M70 (2026) | up to 302 miles |
| i7 eDrive50 | up to 314 miles |
| i7 xDrive60 | up to 311 miles |
Real-world Atlanta summer driving (95°F+ ambient, AC running) typically reduces published range by 8 to 15 percent on the i4 and iX. That still leaves margin for any in-metro round-trip, and for the kind of single-charge runs to north Florida or Birmingham an i4 owner is most likely to plan. For longer-distance driving, the BMW i Series uses CCS fast charging; as of December 2025, BMW EVs (i4, i5, i7, iX) can charge at Tesla Superchargers using a BMW-approved CCS-to-NACS DC adapter, once the required Remote Software Upgrade is installed.
Range figures verified against BMW USA's i Series specifications; actual range varies by wheel size, drivetrain, and conditions.
Test-drive an i4, i5, i7, or iX. We'll send the home-installer guide within 24 hours.

2026 BMW i4 M60General & Location
Where we are, who we are.
We're 17 miles south of downtown Atlanta and 10 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson, on the original Hank Aaron BMW lot. SONS Auto Group has owned and operated the dealership at this address since 2008 — the fourth generation of the Nalley family in Atlanta auto retail.
Where exactly is BMW of South Atlanta?
4171 Jonesboro Road, Union City, GA 30291.
We're on the I-85 South corridor, about 17 miles south of downtown Atlanta and roughly 10 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. From I-85 South, take Exit 64 (GA-138 / Jonesboro Rd) and head west. We're on the right within a half mile of the exit.
The dealership opened in December 1999 under Hank Aaron — the first new BMW franchise awarded in the United States in a decade — and SONS Auto Group has operated the address since 2008.
Who owns BMW of South Atlanta, and what's the connection to the Nalley family?
BMW of South Atlanta is owned by SONS Auto Group, a family-owned dealer group founded by brothers Clay, Slater, and Street Nalley — the fourth generation of the Nalley family in Atlanta auto retail. C.V. Nalley IV (Clay) serves as President of the corporate entity.
The Nalley family has been in Atlanta-area auto sales and service since 1918. In the 1990s, the prior generation — C.V. "Jim" Nalley III — consolidated nine Atlanta-area dealerships into Asbury Automotive Group. The next generation later branched out, purchased four Hank Aaron dealerships, and built SONS Auto Group from there. SONS has been BBB-accredited since May 25, 2007.
What's the Hank Aaron connection to this dealership?
Hank Aaron — the Atlanta Braves Hall of Famer who held the all-time home-run record for 33 years — opened Union City BMW at this address in December 1999, the first new BMW franchise awarded in the United States in a decade. He owned and operated the dealership until SONS Auto Group acquired it as part of a four-dealership transaction announced in early 2007 and finalized the following year. Hank Aaron passed away in January 2021. The BMW franchise at this address has operated continuously since 1999, first under his ownership and then under SONS.
